The Human Zoo

1 August 2019 · 1 min read

Most people today intuitively understand that animals in zoos suffer because they are not living as nature intended them to, yet fail to understand the correlation that has with the human condition.

Western culture is a zoo for humans. People suffer from anxiety, depression, sickness, and disease not because of some chemical imbalance. That is just one physical expression of our suffering. It is a message, and a calling if we are open to embrace it. Western medicine is blind to what we truly are. We are not creatures of meat, and chemicals, we are souls expressing ourselves in the material realm, and when we do not live as nature intended us to, we suffer. The answer is not in a bottle of pills, or alcohol, it's in aligning ourselves with the natural world, and embracing our feelings instead of sitting in fear of our truth.

We are loved. Nature loves us, the world loves us, and life love us. It is desperately trying to guide us out of our self-imposed prisons, but many of us fail to heed the call. When we let go of our resistance to the flow of nature, we can find our way back to it. That might mean leaving behind the shackles of our imprisonment, but it's the only real answer to our suffering
